2024 Expert Panelists

The Stethoscope Stage 2024 theme is women’s maternal health. The following individuals comprise the panel of experts who will lead discussion immediately following the staged reading of monologues and short plays exploring this timely social issue.

Dr. April Bleich

Dr. April Bleich, MD: As Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at TCU Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine, Dr. Bleich is a practicing Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist caring for high-risk pregnant women and their babies. She serves as the Maternal Medical Director at Andrews’ Women’s Hospital, Baylor Scott & White All Saints, a level IV maternal center that deliveries over 6,000 babies annually.  In addition to teaching and mentoring medical students, Dr Bleich is core faculty for the ObGyn residency program at BSW All Saints. She earned undergraduate degrees in Molecular Biology and Psychology at the University of Texas Austin, followed by her MD at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston.  Dr. Bleich completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UTSW/Parkland Memorial Hospital and remained there for her Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship.  In 2011, Dr Bleich moved to Fort Worth to join Maternal Fetal Medicine of Texas/Obstetrix Medical Group. After living in most major cities in Texas, she is proud to call Fort Worth home. 

Elizabeth Slear

Elizabeth Slear: A third-year medical student at Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at Texas Christian University, Elizabeth is planning to apply to OB/GYN residency next year. She is the current president of the OB/GYN Student Interest Group at the medical school. She earned a degree in Spanish from Princeton University in 2020. Her interests include working with underserved populations and reproductive health research. In her free time, she enjoys training for marathons and triathlons.

Sarah Morrow, CNM: A midwife working in Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas
