Founded by award-winning playwright Ayvaunn Penn, the third biannual Stethoscope Stage play festival is being presented by the Texas Christian University Theatre Department and Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 2PM CT at The Amon Carter Museum of American Art located in Fort Worth, Texas. The festival will feature a staged reading of enthralling ten-minute plays and monologues exploring conversations around: body image and weight; how society views and treats people who are overweight and/or diabetic; and questions, curiosities, and experiences with GLP-1 medications. The performance will be immediately followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session with medical professionals. For the first time, the festival will also feature original artwork commissioned on the festival theme. Admission is FREE.
