Founded by award-winning playwright Ayvaunn Penn, the third biannual Stethoscope Stage play festival is being presented by the Texas Christian University Theatre Department and Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine in fall 2026. The festival will feature a staged reading of enthralling ten-minute plays and monologues exploring conversations around: body image and weight; how society views and treats people who are overweight and/or diabetic; and questions, curiosities, and experiences with GLP-1 medications. The performance will be immediately followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session with medical professionals.
